LET’S TALK ABOUT THE JOB!
You report to the Director HR & Legal and are responsible for providing leadership and direction in the area of induction, learning and development and performance for the European organization. You will work closely with senior management to identify organizational development needs, propose solutions, and drive enterprise-wide performance improvement activities. Key responsibilities include the design and execution of induction, training and development programs to support the achievement of the company’s operational goals. To accomplish your tasks, 20% of travelling may be required.

 

LET’S TALK ABOUT YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES!

  • You design a European Learning and Development strategy for both Shurgard’s stores and support center organization that is aligned with the company’s overall strategy.
  • You design, develop, create the roll-out plan and deliver training and development programs for the organization to improve performance in sales, operations/business fundamentals, leadership, management and coaching.
  • You change, manage, design, develop, and roll-out the training and communication approach for process, IS and other changes impacting Shurgard’s store employees.
  • You organize, prepare the content, and play a key role in facilitating the company’s annual sales conferences and other employee meetings.
  • You manage, develop and add content in the HRIS suite (Talentsoft), for which you are the central administrator
  • You produce and explain monthly and yearly reports (training deployment, recruitment, promotion and performance).
  • You manage ad-hoc HR and business projects, such as employer branding, employee journey, European-wide projects connected to HR or L&D.
  • You act as a personal development resource for all stakeholders.
  • You coordinate the regular internal communication to the field.
  • You have experience in and are a good training facilitator. You like giving trainings yourself and are not afraid to present with impact to larger groups.
  • You are responsible for Internal Communication related to Operations and communicate system changes or company updates via our internal channels to the Operations department
  • You manage, together with colleagues from other supporting departments, the Shurgard Intranet and make sure the content stays relevant.

LET’S TALK ABOUT YOUR PROFILE!

  • You have a bachelor’s degree or similar through experience. Experience in retail or another similar commercial environment is preferred.
  • You must have a minimum of 5 to 10 years of Learning and Organizational Development experience in an international context and a multi-country environment.
  • You must have experience with the use of an LMS system as an administrator.
  • You are fluent in English and Dutch, good knowledge of French is an asset. Knowledge of any additional market language is considered a plus.
  • You have a good working knowledge of Microsoft applications, in particular strong sympathy for Power BI. You are fluent with Sharepoint, PowerPoint, Teams and OneNote (and all other M365 applications).
  • You are curious towards new technology and are using AI to enhance your work.
