You report to the Real Estate Accounting & Reporting Manager and will service Shurgard’s development and construction businesses in Europe and other financial administrative services. You will be responsible for maintaining company’s Fixed Asset register, preparation of monthly closings on utilities, repair, maintenance and capital expenditures.
You will have contact with Real Estate team (Construction, Facility, Design, Development etc.) as well as with their suppliers.

About your Accounting and Finance responsibilities:
- You support in the daily administration on the invoice and purchase order cycle for maintenance, repair, and capital expenditures; Review the allocations and posting of invoices ensuring basic controls.
- You track the company's repair, maintenance and capital expenditure against budget
- You are responsible for monthly closings on utilities, repair, maintenance and capital expenditures
- You manage the capitalization and depreciation process and related reconciliations
- You maintain company’s Fixed asset register
- You ensure strict compliance with IFRS and local GAAPs.
- You participate in insurance claims management
- You support the (internal) audit process
- You ensure the preparations of budgets
- You participate in ESG reporting preparation
- You support the execution of mergers, acquisitions, and the integration as necessary.
- You offer administrative assistance in various ad-hoc projects
About your process and systems responsibilities:
- You implement procedures and systems necessary to maintain proper records and to afford adequate accounting controls and procedures for all business cycles in accordance with Shurgard’s standards.
- You implement the roll out of various control systems in your market(s).
- You contribute to European projects: systems, integration of new entities, IFRS migration, maintenance of policies and procedures.
- You support the Accounting Manager with special projects and workflow process improvements.
- You ensure the application of and compliance with control processes.
About your people responsibilities:
