Junior Construction Manager M/F

Shurgard is the largest owner and developer in self storage. With almost 270 stores in 7 countries, we are market leader. For further development of our portfolio, we are looking for a Junior Construction Manager to support the Team.

The Junior Construction Manager will oversee the construction of all assigned construction projects. The successful candidate will be expected to manage/ participate in the building design which will include; maintenance of the construction schedules, the review of proposals and change orders, collaboration with external Project Managers, solving day-to-day construction issues; coordination of the final walk-thru inspection and the sign off of each projects punch list. The average job cost is 3 to 10 MIO EUR per project. Extensive travel across Netherlands and Belgium and also occasional travel to Europe will be required.

He/she will report to the Construction Manager Netherlands.

Your day to day responsibilities :

• Delivering New Store Openings and redevelopments in the Netherlands and Belgium within approved budgets, in scheduled timeline, according to required scope and in line with Shurgard quality standards.
• Completing the tendering process of new construction projects (from start to end).
• Finalizing contracting process.  
• Reviewing timings, budgets, labour, risks and project plans through on-site visits.
• Regular meetings with contractors/vendors and internal stakeholders and preparing site reports to ensure works stays on track.
• Ensuring smooth handover of the completed projects to internal stakeholders.
• Following up Defects Liability Period, after execution.
• Executing pre-construction surveys for upcoming new projects.
• Supporting Development Team for new investments: Visiting prospects, preparing cost plans and construction time schedules.
